As a makeup artist, and makeup junkie at that, I understand it is hard to find quality products with out breaking the bank. I always say it is best to invest your hard earned dollars into your skincare, foundation and a great shadow base.
Using a shadow base with ‘mass cosmetics’ or shadows from your drug store will give you a look off the runway with out the cost.
My most recent purchase, for $9.99 might I add, was the new Mabelline EYESTUDIO silk shadow palette in Irresistibly Ivy. Below I will demonstrate a step by step look as you see in the photo. Although I stated a shadow base is best to use prior to any color I had to test the true pigment load in this palette.
“I, AC, solemly sware I did not use a shadow base or any other artist tricks, including photoshop to get the look below”
I was pleasantly shocked that the shadow was almost true to color and did not ‘disappear’ or turn to a shiny one color look when I put it on the lid like many mass cosmetic shadows.
