Mayor Dave Bing said last week the city eventually will encourage residents to move from sparsely-populated areas to dense neighborhoods where the cash-strapped city could afford to provide higher-quality services, but he noted that “incentives aren’t always financial.”
The Detroit Works Project, as Team Bing reminded Thursday, remains a work in progress. The city will host a series of 40 community meetings in coming months, and Pugh said he has volunteered to go door-to-door to sell residents on the plan.
