DETROIT — A man convicted of fatally shooting his son execution-style after he admitted to molesting his sister was sentenced to 37 to 80 years in prison.

Jamar Pinkney Sr. of Highland Park was sentenced Thursday by Wayne County Circuit Judge Brian Sullivan in the Nov. 16 death of Jamar Pinkney Jr.

On April 1, he was convicted of murder, three counts of felony assault and one count of felony firearm.

“It was a 10-2 vote. There was people who thought it was second-degree and there was a majority of us who thought it was first-degree,” said jury foreman Abby Whitford after the trial ended. “However, we have to make some sort of compromise.” DETROIT — A man convicted of fatally shooting his son execution-style after he admitted to molesting his sister was sentenced to 37 to 80 years in prison.
