For lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people, June is the official month to celebrate their pride! As always, it will be an action-packed month of events, to celebrate the LGBT community, commemorate the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, and support the ongoing fight for gay liberation.
With their rainbow flags waving, hundreds of thousands of members of the LGBT community, along with their family, friends and peers, will gather together at festivals, picnics, pride parades and memorials for those lost from hate crimes to acknowledge the impact that they have on the world.
The LGBT Pride Month proclamation declares that Americans “renew our commitment to the struggle for equal rights for LGBT Americans and to ending prejudice and injustice wherever it exists.”
This year, as a community, it our goal is to celebrate their lifestyle while providing them with love, support, understanding and education. Watch out for celebrations to kicking off in your city and show your support!
