NEW YORK CITY — Fatoumata Diallo, a 21-year-old Bronx woman, was struck and killed by a train after she fainted and fell onto the tracks.
Police say that 21-year-old Bronx resident Fatoumata Diallo fainted, possibly due to the heat, just as a northbound No. 6 train pulled into the station, and was “cut in half”, according to a witness.
Diallo was a student studying medicine at Borough of Manhattan Community College. Her family says she has fainted at least three times in the last three months, the first time at her father’s house.
A spokesperson for the MTA said the train conductor and operator were taken in for routine drug and alcohol testing.
