Just one day before ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is to be released from prison, the website promoting his book “Surrendered: The Rise, Fall & Revelation Of Kwame Kilpatrick” has released journal entries Kilpatrick wrote while in jail. One of them was written on Father’s Day. It reads:
“It is on days like today, Father’s Day, where I would do anything to have my arms around them and just to be there. To be with them.”
In another entry, Kilpatrick talks about singing with the prison’s praise team:
Today I participated in the praise team at church. We sang 3 songs backed up by the congregation. And then I sang a solo, backed up by the band (drums, keyboard, bass and lead guitars). I sung “Running Back to You” by Commissioned.
