Dr. Steven Shwedel is out to change lives by offering free smiles to anyone who needs dental work, as he hosts his third annual Dentistry From The Heart (DFTH) event on Saturday, September 24.
Dr. Shwedel and his team of dentists and volunteers will help over 100 people in need of dental work, treating patients in need of fillings, extractions and cleanings. Last year, Shwedel Dental helped 130 of patients through DFTH and this year’s event promises to be even larger.
Dentistry From The Heart is a national non-profit organization with a simple mission: making people smile. Founded in 2001 by a Florida dentist, DFTH was created to aid those in need, including the growing population of under-insured Americans.
Dr. Shwedel said he’s excited to once again participate in DFTH, adding that it is his way of giving back to the community and helping people in need.
Starting at 8 a.m., Dr. Shwedel and his volunteers will treat the first 100 patients, or however many they can service by 5 p.m. They will be accepting patients ages 18 years and older.
The event will take place on Sept. 24 at Shwedel Dental, 25650 Goddard Road in Taylor. For more information, visit www.shwedeldental.com or the organization’s national website at www.dentistryfromtheheart.org.
