Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has announced charges in the case of missing two-year-old Bianca Jones.
D’Andre Lane, 32, has been charged with first-degree felony murder and first-degree felony child abuse.
Lane is expected to be arraigned Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
The announcement was made in the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office in the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit.
Bianca has been missing since December 2, 2011.
Prosecutor Worthy decided to announce charges after a thorough investigation conducted by the Detoit Police, Michigan State Police, the FBI and the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Criminal Investigations Division.
Detroit police asked for an arrest warrant in mid-December, two weeks after Bianca Jones was reported missing by her father during a carjacking.
The car was recovered but not the child.
Police have been skeptical of D’Andre Lane’s version of events, but he has denied wrongdoing.
