Two-time GRAMMY-nominated Motown Artist KEM has fans chatting online about his newest hit single, “You’re On My Mind,” a classic-sounding R&B song that was blended with a twist of comedy in the new music video. The video debuted earlier this month on VH1 Soul, MTV and online at VEVO.com.

In his “You’re On My Mind” video, KEM stars as a man who has suffered a recent relationship breakup. After being alone in his house for some time reflecting on the relationship, his friends come over to take him out for a night on the town to get his mind off things. Fortunately…or unfortunately for KEM, his friends are played by actor/comedians, Anthony Anderson and Bruce Bruce, who give a unique, comedic response to the reflective love story. KEM’s love interest in the video is played by singer Goapele.

“We had a lot of fun during the making of this video,” said KEM. “It was very different than any other video we’ve made in the past. The premise is that my friends, Anthony Anderson and Bruce Bruce have come to my house to help me get my mind off a woman who I’ve recently ended a relationship with (Goapele). Many of my songs are about a brother coming to terms with himself and then bringing himself back to his woman and ‘You’re On My Mind’ is a reflection of that. This is the last single from the INTIMACY album, so I feel like we’re leaving a lasting impression.”

With the “You’re On My Mind” video, we wanted to produce a storyline that showed a different side of KEM,” said Toya Hankins, KEM’s manager and ‘You’re On My Mind’ video producer. “He has a great sense of humor that most people haven’t yet gotten to see, mostly because of the deep love themes that most of his music depicts. We intentionally cast the video with well-known comedians so it would resonate with a wider audience and to give it even more of a comedic edge.”
