Ola Ray, the woman who played Michael Jackson’s date in his iconic “Thriller” music video has reportedly settled a royalties lawsuit against Jackson’s estate for 55 thousand dollars, with an extra 20 grand going to pay her lawyer. That’s from TMZ, which first broke the news the 2009 suit was settled in May of 2012. Ray’s suit was initially filed prior to Jackson’s 2009 death.
The director of the video, John Landis, also claimed to have been shorted for his work on what became one of the most famous videos of all time. Although he has also since settled, his terms haven’t been disclosed — though he was seeking more than two million bucks, says TMZ.
