One University of South Carolina professor, Dr. Edward Archer, says that in these current, lazy times, women burn up to 360 calories a day less than the future generations did.

Radar Online reports that: “TThe study attributes the increased rate of obesity in women to them not spending enough time and energy doing housework, as such activities like cooking and cleaning burn a lot of calories.”

Apparently, back in the 60s, women spent about 25.7 hours a week doing housework and 8 hours a week watching TV. These days, women spend only about 13.3 hours cleaning and more like 16 hours watching TV.

So all those hours spent moving around back in the 60s are now spent lazing around on the couch…and there go the calories.

So next time you want to complain about keeping your place in order, you have three options: hire help and screw the calories, just think of it as you’re working on your fitness…make your guy and/or your kids do it. Yeah, option 3.
