Armed with an AR-15 and a handgun on Thursday, May 2, Carnell Marcus Moore, 29, walked calmly into Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, and fired at least two shots into the ceiling before allegedly killing himself, reports KHOU.com.
The deadly incident took place in the ticket area inside Terminal B.
“As soon as he walked in, he just automatically started shooting quickly,” said an airport McDonald’s employee named Kendra Carrizales. “And we hear two shots and we just automatically started running. We ran all the way to the back.”
According to witnesses, Moore was walking with the gun to his head. He fired the shots in the air, which drew the attention of a Homeland Security special agent, who then fired two shots at Moore.

Moore, who would have turned 30 this month, had allegedly been living in a hotel in the days prior to the shooting. He left behind a suicide note, in which he wrote that he had a “monster within and wanted the cops to take care of it. The note said Moore had a bigger plan, but decided to show mercy on others,” reports KHOU.com.
“It was traumatic it really was, it was too much going on. Everybody was running, and all that stuff, it was a lot going on,” Carrizales said.

At this time, it is unclear whether the Moore, who was shot in the head, was killed by his own weapon or by the Homeland Security special agent, according to Houston Police Department.
