Amidst uptight airport security measures that have been taken by authorities following the foiled terrorist attack on a Detroit bound flight last month, passengers have to face immense inconvenience while boarding a flight. However, this does to seem to include Hollywood celebrities as has emerged from a latest incident involving Oscar winning actress Halle Berry, who was whisked past security checks while she was boarding a flight in Montreal airport.
Halle Berry was traveling with her model boyfriend Gabriel Aubry and 22 month old daughter Nahla when she was escorted by police officers through US customs and did not have to wait in the long queue of passengers. The actress was on her way to board an Air Canada flight to Los Angeles when the incident occurred on Monday.
However, the special treatment meted out to the Hollywood celebrity enraged the other passengers who had to wait for hours to clear the security check. The widespread outrage and dissatisfaction that was palpable among the passengers resulted in Montreal police authorities accepting that it was a huge mistake on their part to treat the Hollywood actress in a different manner.
Airport security unit head Jimmy Cacchione has revealed that Halle Berry’s boyfriend requested the officers whether they could skip the line as they were getting late and had the baby along with them. It has been emphasized that the Montreal police does not support such special treatment given to celebrities as police provide help to the celebrity passengers only when there are chances of them getting mobbed. However, this was not the case when Halle Berry was whisked past the security checks.
