A Wayne County judge today dismissed a lawsuit claiming a man who helped the FBI investigate corruption in Wayne County intentionally caused emotional distress to one of the men convicted.
Zayd Allebban, 35, of Dearborn, filed the suit, arguing that county vendor Philip Shisha lied to investigators to avoid being prosecuted himself as part of a bribery probe.
This morning, Wayne County Judge Leslie Kim Smith granted Shisha’s motion for summary dissmissal, ruling that Shisha can’t be held civilly liable for helping with a criminal investigation.
“She ruled that you can’t go after a cooperating person,” said Shisha’s lawyer, Christopher Andreoff.
