A female teacher at a Catholic school in metro Detroit accused of having a sexual relationship with a male student has been charged.
After the Madison Heights police investigation concluded, The Oakland County Prosecutors Office charged 29-year-old Kathryn Ronk, of Birmingham, with five counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony punishable by up to life in prison.
Ronk was employed as a Spanish teacher at Bishop Foley High School in Madison Heights. It is alleged that Ronk engaged in multiple acts of sexual penetration with a 15-year-old student.
According to Fox 2, Ronk turned herself in to the Madison Height Police Department Wednesday and was arraigned on the charges. Ronk posted bond at $50 thousand bond and was released. She was ordered to wear a GPS tether. Ronk will return to court on July 9 for a preliminary examination.
