Often times, God will send people in your life, who you may not speak to regularly but when you do, they are a rich blessing; their words meet you right at your point of need.
Several years ago I met such a person by the name of Donnis Calhoun. Donnis is the type of person who always has a kind word and a listening ear. However, I soon found out that this quite, reserved woman is an awesome powerhouse used by God to minister to others. Her recent post on her ministry blog was such a blessing to me that I wanted to share it with the Elev8 family.
I believe that this post is timely and relevant, because of the current economic status of our nation, we are all forced to to re-examine the direction of our individual personal lives. Donnis’ post reminds us that no matter what, we are in control of our own destiny. The choice is yours. I pray that it blesses you.

On May 12, 2010 I was driving north on 75/85 heading to work. It was a beautiful day not to much traffic. Out of the blue I started singing: “Make that move right now baby.” (Now where that song came from, I don’t know) My radio was off, so I started to listen to see if a car next to me may have been playing that song. To my surprise I didn’t hear it from the outside, but it continued to play in my spirit, “Make that move…” A few feet ahead I looked up to my right and a billboard read “It’s your move”.
Since that Wednesday I have been looking for that billboard but I haven’t seen it again. However I know that the anointing of the sons of Issachar is on my life to know the time and the seasons. (1 Chronicles 12:32)
And I believe that this is the time and the season for us to move into the things God has designed us for.
Design means: to conceive and plan out in the mind; to have as a purpose; intend. Before God created you, brought you into existence He designed you. He knew the plans He had for you. (Jeremiah 29:11). Everything that God created; first, had a design, a purpose. In the midst of a world that was void, dark and in chaos God knew what was needed, He had designed it in His mind first. Before He said “Let there be light” He conceived a big light known as the Sun to shine by day and a lesser light the Moon, to shine by night. (Genesis 1)
I present this thought to you today, you are one decision, one choice away from your life being altered by God, the choice is yours, it’s your move.
No excuses, your supervisor doesn’t hold the key. It doesn’t matter if your Mother or your Father has groomed you for this moment or not. What God placed on the inside of you is far greater than what man can do for you. It’s your move; tap into the river of resources God has filled you with. Stop waiting on everybody else. God has expectation in you! What He designed, intended for you is waiting for you to make the decision to walk it out.
Rahab the “Harlot” found her self in an “it’s your move” moment. (Joshua 2) God was positioning the children of Israel to invade and conquer Jericho. It was a risky move but never the less she made the right decision at the right time and ended up being saved. Because of Rahab’s move others were saved as well (Joshua 2:4, 12-14 & 6:21-25).
I mentioned Rahab the Harlot because she had been relabeled. God did not design her to be, act like, nor become a harlot that was her choice.
Have people relabeled you because of your previous or present acts? Have you relabeled yourself with negative thoughts such as: it’s too late, I can’t and I don’t have the money for that? Well Mr. or Mrs. I can’t do it; the time of deliverance is at hand. Don’t miss your moment to move into your God breathed destiny. “It’s your move” Allow the sound of these words to become a knowing in your spirit. It’s your move! It’s your move! Declare it for yourself: It’s my move!
Listen, if Rahab had not made the decision to make a move she would have never met her Godly husband (for my single ladies); she would have never birthed Boaz the kinsman redeemer. Her life had to line up with the plan of God so that she could give birth to what God had placed on the inside of her.
What’s on the inside of you, waiting for you to make the right move at the right time?
Again I say, It’s Your Move!
