Put together by producers Denzil Foster an Thomas McElroy, Cindy Herron, Maxine Jones, Dawn Robinson, and Terry Ellis, came on the scene blazing. Their first single off their debut album Born to Sing “Hold On” was a huge commercial success, reaching number two on Billboard’s Hot 100 and number one on the R&B singles and Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts. From their they became a worldwide success. With their equally epic music videos, the group racked up so many MTV Video Music Awards they they still to this day hold the record for the most VMAs than any other female group in MTV history, that includes groups like The Spice Girls, TLC, and Destiny’s Child. They earned seven Grammy nominations, won six American Music Awards, and four Soul Train Awards.
