DETROIT (myFOXDetroit.com) –Marco Jennings is part of a tight-knit family, but now the family is rallying around him.The 40 year-old was hit by a car at Gratiot and 8 Mile approximately 5:30 a.m. Saturday, while walking to his girlfriend’s house.
The driver never stopped.
He has broken bones all over his body, and doctors are unable to guarantee he’ll be able to walk again.
His only guarantee, in fact, is that he’ll have a long, tough recovery.
“You’re an awful person, you’re a coward,” his sister Marcella Craig told Fox 2. “You know what you did. I don’t know if you were drunk or what, but you should’ve stopped to see if he was alright – because you left him in the middle of the street to die.”
Doctor’s say his condition is critical. He may even lose his legs.
“He’s doing really bad. He’s broken up real bad and he has to have 4 or 5 more surgeries tomorrow,” his sister said. “He has stabilizer bars all through him. I just want to cry, he’s in so much pain.”
Marco’s family wants justice, but they have very little information to give police.
His sister said the person who ran him over was driving a Chevy, but DPD needs more.
If you have any information, please contact the Detroit Police Department.
