Inspired by the original shopping experience in downtown Detroit that began back in the 1950s, Downtown Detroit Days return to the Motor City this weekend at Woodward Avenue’s 511 Building.
Some of Detroit’s most popular brands, artisans and food vendors are part of the three-day shopping event, set for 5-11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Participating vendors Beau Bien Fine Foods, Cerealfly Craft Soap, Common Threads Clothing, Detroit Spice Co., Good People Popcorn, Goods Detroit, Simplifeid Clothing, the Peacock Room and Peoples Pierogi Collective.
A portion of proceeds will benefit Summer in the City, “a nonprofit that enlists college-aged leaders to bring energetic high school volunteers from throughout Metro Detroit into the city of Detroit to serve.”
Downtown Detroit Days is being sponsored by the Somerset Collection, Bedrock Real Estate Services and Quicken Loans and “is part of their collective efforts to inspire retail in downtown Detroit.” For information, visitdowntowndetroitdays.com.
