On this day, back in 1983 New Edition’s debut album “Candy Girl” was released by Streetwise Records on March 1st.

The title song was written and produced by Maurice Starr after seeing New Edition perform at a talent show in 1982. He signed them and had them record “Candy Girl” in a small studio in Roxbury, Massachusetts in 1982. The band members were between the ages of 13-15 when the song was released

The track list was 10 songs and here’s a few of our favorites from that iconic album!
